My Philosophy

My approach to acupuncture is rooted in the belief that the natural state of our bodies is one of balance and health. Our innate healing potential is unsurpassed, yet is often impeded by emotional stress, lifestyle habits, or environmental factors. By taking time to understand the root cause of your symptoms, my goal is to empower you through acupuncture and coaching to restore your body's natural healing capacity. When addressed at this level, symptoms generally disappear and patients report the added benefit of a deeper level of peace and self-awareness in their lives.

About

Treatment Experience

Each treatment is uniquely designed to address your concerns as they manifest in you. People often ask if I specialize in a certain area, and while I do have areas of particular interest, my true specialty is in the uniqueness of each person I treat. Five people may present with migraine headaches, but the root cause of each may be different. To specialize in “headaches” would be to miss the nuances of the person before me. This individualized approach requires that I spend time getting to know you so that I can learn how best to support you in health. The initial consultation is typically 90 minutes long with subsequent treatments lasting 45 minutes to an hour.

What to expect

During your first visit, I will gather your complete medical and social history and conduct a physical exam. I also include a needle treatment during this visit. Subsequent treatments are usually scheduled at weekly intervals with the exception of acute situations, which sometimes require more frequent treatments. Usually after the first 6-8 visits we can begin spacing treatments out to every other week, and eventually monthly or even seasonally for maintenance.
